After Niantic acquired 8th Wall in 2022, our team brought Niantic VPS to the web, empowering developers to create precise, location-based AR experiences directly in the browser.
To showcase these new capabilities, Niantic launched the VPS World Tour—a series of weekend-long hackathons in cities around the globe, including New York, Los Angeles, London, and Tokyo.
I joined the New York and Los Angeles stops of the tour, where I delivered an hour-long introduction to building location-based AR with 8th Wall, helping developers bring real-world places to life through WebAR.
